A special environment is created to the determine relative orientation of both mocap volumes. Any given volume may use a different forward direction. By rotating to align the volumes (in software) the performers at each site now face towards each other when facing at the LED wall. This simple but significant change allows them to position themselves relative to their remote counterparts and interact. Attention is also paid to the origin of each volume - a fixed reference point not necessarily the centre of the motion captured space.
